HelpTimecard for Mac

Notifications

Timecard uses notifications for a few things you'd otherwise miss: when a Claude or Codex plan limit reaches 80% and 95% and when it resets, and when your Screen Time history has been imported. The 80% nudge for a daily limit comes from the notch, not a notification.

Find it inSystem Settings › Notifications › Timecard

How to allow them

  1. macOS asks once, the first time Timecard has something to tell you. Click Allow.
  2. If you missed it, open System Settings › Notifications › Timecard and turn on Allow notifications.

How to turn some off

AI plan limit alerts can be turned off in Timecard's Settings › AI. Everything else stays quiet unless something happened you'd want to know.

questions

Does Timecard send a notification when a daily limit runs out?

It does better: at 80% a nudge comes out of the notch, and at 100% the site or app is blocked with the time's-up screen. Notifications are for AI plan limits and imports.

Why didn't I get a limit alert?

Check System Settings › Notifications › Timecard is allowed, and that limit alerts are on in Timecard's Settings › AI.
